Looking after your loved ones

Watch our short video to understand why it's so important to complete a Nomination for your pension...

We all want to provide for our loved ones after we’re gone, so it’s useful to know that your Fund membership includes a lump-sum payment to your beneficiaries if you die before you claim your pension.

By updating your Nominations, you can say who you’d like your beneficiaries to be and what percentage of the payment you’d like them each to receive.

You can nominate:

  • an individual person or several people
  • organisations, such as clubs
  • charities

Why spare five minutes?

It only takes a few minutes to complete your nominations online and you can help your loved ones avoid inheritance tax and delays in payments. These could occur if there is no record of your wishes.

Every couple of years (or after changes to your circumstances), you should review your nominations to make sure your wishes haven’t changed.

How to nominate

You can update your nominations at any time by logging into your myFund account, (or registering for one if you haven't already). You can change your nominations as often as you need to. It's important that your wishes are up to date.

The Management Committee for the Fund doesn’t have to follow your wishes but it will take them into account and look at your personal circumstances at the time you died.
