As the festive season approaches, be extra vigilant against scams and fraudulent activity.

Scammers often take advantage of busy times of the year and are using increasingly sophisticated methods to target individuals – including pension scheme members.

Your security is our priority

Keeping your pension savings safe is of utmost importance to us. Railpen, the administrator for the Fund, has robust measures in place to protect your personal information and pension benefits. However, you also play a vital role in keeping your pension safe.

How to be vigilant against scams

Only use the official websites: The official websites for the British Transport Police Force Superannuation Fund and Railpen are:

Genuine emails from the Fund or Railpen will come from @railpen.com or @railwayspensions.co.uk. Railpen rebranded several years ago from RPMI to Railpen. We will only contact you from a Railpen email address, never an RPMI one.

Where to get further support about scams and security

You can check the Financial Conduct Authority’s Financial Services Register at register.fca.org.uk to check if firms offering advice or services are authorised and compare their contact details.
